Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, born Karoline, believed in caring for children in her home country Bavaria. Inspired to uphold Jesus's love for children, she constructed the School Sisters of Notre Dame for women and children in 1833. After approval from the Vatican, Theresa continued her work until her death.
