Jeanne avoided marriage as she believed that God was calling her, but was unsure of which religious instituition or order to join. As an adult, she established the Incarnate Word Community, but she was unable to break any major grounds before her death. Her 'daughters' also found trouble in re-establishing the Order, but eventually her foundation began to grow.
