Born in Mexico in 1897, Miguel fled to Spain to avoid religious persecution, where he was ordained in 1925. He returned to Mexico in 1926 to assist those in Mexico City through an 'underground' Church before he was accused of attempted assassination of the Mexican President. Although the accusations were false, he was sentenced to be executed by firing squad in 1927.
