St. Catherine Laboure, born Zoe Laboure, was one of eleven children born to a farm family. On July 18, 1830, Catherine witnessed a vision of the Virgin Mary in which Our Lady revealed the medal of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the 'Miraculous Medal'.
